Plant Wisdom: Thresholds of Perception
Every plant has the capacity to expand our spheres of perception.
The other-than-human world is always communicating with us; we are on a path of remembering how to listen.
The wisdom that arises through these relationships feels essential—perhaps even urgent—for the times we are living in. Plants can guide us not only in matters of health, but in how we grow, how we belong, how we relate to one another, and how we come back into right relationship with the land. As we deepen our relationships with the plants growing around us—through time, care and attention—their presence and intelligence begin to live more clearly within us.
In this course we work with distinct thresholds of perception:
the listening of the body, the sensing of the heart, and the seership that all humans have the capacity to access. We explore how these ways of knowing can be gently opened by plants, how to tend these openings with care, and how to discern meaning from what we experience—without rushing to interpretation or certainty.
This weekend includes:
• Working with the intelligence of the body, allowing specific plants to open distinct perceptual capacities
• Touch work in pairs, exploring plant-touch, where each plant reveals a different quality of sensing and contact
• Daily movement sessions to come more fully into the body and allow the plants to work through us
• Gently deepening and learning to trust seership, and exploring what it means for perception to be guided—rather than overridden—by plants
• Simple evening ritual on the land, working with smokes from plants growing here
• An exploration of the Witch-Wound: the cultural imprint of centuries of persecution that has contributed to a collective mistrust of intuition, seership and deep connection with the living world
Over the course of the weekend, plants—alongside many tried and tested practices—help to open inner gates of perception. Previous participants often report that doors opened in just a few days have given them pathways to explore for years afterwards.
The course is supported by online materials, accessible both before and after the weekend, to help you prepare for and deepen this journey.
