Permaculture Education Center

In our education concept we impart knowledge of permaculture as an integrated planning system and vital philosophy which addresses all levels of a population. Teaching, learning, and discovering occur in our outdoor classroom. Collected knowledge and experiences of the project „Alpine Permaculture Schweibenalp“ flow into both certificate as well as individual courses. From our permaculture gardens course participants learn one-to-one how theory becomes practice.

Herbal Products

Our plants thrive at 1100 meters altitude and are planted, tended and harvested by hand. We produce a variety of organic herbal products, like condiments, teas, syrups, cosmetic products, and herbal-incense products.

Nursery

We cultivate with a lot of love and dedication a wide range of permaculturally interesting plants in our perennial nursery.  In an alpine climate we foster herbs, medicinal plants, perennial vegetables, aromatic herbs and incense-herbs, wild flowers, berries and domestic bushes.

Vegetable Seedlings

The vegetable garden offers for sale a diversity of organic seedlings in the period between May and August. Salads, leafy, fruit and root vegetables according to the time of planting.

Seed Garden

Alpine organic seeds from 1100 meters altitude. In our seed garden, the seeds mature in an alpine climate at a breezy mountain altitude with reduced vegetation time. We breed various vegetable sorts, kitchen herbs, multiple years perennial herbs and wild flowers.
